Self Care for Engineers

     

    According to the latest evidence, we should all be aiming to consume around 15–25% of our daily energy intake at breakfast (DailyMail Online, 2017)

     

    A healthy breakfast keeps us alert mentally. Skipping breakfast could mean serious health problems in the future, so eat those fruits, veggies and lean protein for breakfast!

    Health experts commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon a day. This is called the 8×8 rule. (Healthline)

     

    11.5 cups (2.7 liters) a day for women

    15.5 cups (3.7 liters) a day for men

    Exercise doesn’t always need to be done outside. You can take your shoes and workout clothes inside and buy dumbells online or carry heavy items as a substitute like a liter of water!

    Remember, small steps make a difference engineers!

    There are times we have to stay awake and work extra hours. However, this can’t be a daily routine or else, we’d be ineffective at work. Learn how to pause, set aside work for tomorrow and get quality sleep. 

     

    Make sure your room is dark, quiet and conducive for sleep. Turn off your gadgets and keep then away from your bed. A sleep mask and earbuds help!
