The 5G Evolution is Happening and CADSourcing is here to Help
Mobile networks continue to upgrade and prepare for the 5G mobile carrier surge as the year is progressing. This means more and more people will be joining the 5G bandwagon with 5G New Radio Technology (NR). 5G NR is the newest global standard for 5G wireless air interface.
5G New Radio Technology
The 5G NR uses waveforms higher than 3.8 GHz, the usual frequency being used at the moment. Using higher frequencies allows 5G to provide communication for very high bandwidth transmissions making real-time connectivity a reality.
Real-time connectivity means no more delays in your zoom calls and you will be able to talk to the person as if he is with you face to face.
U.S. Cellular Activates 5G
On July 30, Business Wire announced that U.S. Cellular, the fourth largest mobile network operator in the United States, has activated 5G NR in 11 more states.
U.S. Cellular has already activated 5G NR in parts of Iowa and Wisconsin earlier this year, and as of July it adds California, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia to the list.
The expansion of 5G services is the second phase of U.S. Cellular’s multi-year expansion for the 5G network on its 600 MHz spectrum.
U.S. Cellular is the most recent mobile network to convert to 5G following AT&T 5G which launched on March 6th this year next to Verizon 5G plan, Sprint and T Mobile which activated their 5G services in the year 2019.
Devices Offering 5G
Accordingly, more and more 5G mobile carriers are now surfacing to adapt to the 5G evolution. In fact, U.S. Cellular also announced that 5G connected devices are now available in their stores which includes the Samsung Galaxy S20 Smartphones, the LG V60 ThinQ 5G, and the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G.
U.S. Cellular also announced its partnership expansion with Ericsson. Ericsson together with Nokia and Samsung will now be providing the mobile network operator with 24, 28, and 39 GHz millimetre wave (mmWave) services for their upcoming 5G devices.
